Payment Information
When online payments are enabled, payment information will be processed by the payment method selected at Checkout, such as WooPayments and its payment-processing partners.
Cook and Live does not intend to receive or store complete payment-card numbers directly. Payment processors may collect payment details, billing information, device information, IP addresses, cookies, and fraud-prevention information under their own terms and privacy policies.
The payment methods available may change over time. The applicable processor will be identified during Checkout.
Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the website, our hosting provider, WordPress, WooCommerce, security systems, and other website components may automatically process information such as:
- IP address
- Browser and device type
- Operating system
- Requested pages and files
- Date and time of access
- Referring page or website
- Cookie and session identifiers

This information helps deliver the website, maintain shopping-cart and account functions, prevent abuse, diagnose problems, and protect the website.
2. Recipes and Blog Content
You may generally read recipes and blog posts without creating an account or directly providing personal information.
Technical information may still be processed as part of operating and securing the website. Embedded media may also allow the third-party media provider to receive information as described below.
If recipe favorites, likes, ratings, or similar account-based features are added later, this policy will be updated before those features are launched if they materially change our privacy practices.
3. Contact Form
The Contact form collects:
- Name
- Email address
- Selected topic
- Optional order number
- Message content
We use this information to review and respond to questions concerning orders, products, returns, recipes, website content, and other customer-service matters.
The custom Contact form does not intentionally save submitted messages as Contact-form records in the WordPress website database. Messages are sent to our private administrative email account and may remain in that email system and its backups according to the applicable retention practices.
For spam prevention, the form also uses:
- A hidden spam-trap field
- A WordPress security token
- A temporary one-way value derived from the visitor’s IP address to limit repeated submissions
The temporary rate-limiting value expires automatically after approximately one minute.
4. Accounts
If you create an account, WordPress and WooCommerce may store information including:
- Name
- Email address
- Username
- Password in protected form
- Billing and shipping addresses
- Telephone number
- Order history
- Account preferences
We use this information to maintain the account, support Checkout, show order information, process customer requests, and protect against unauthorized access.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.
5. Orders and Shopping
Our online store is currently closed and is not accepting orders.
If online shopping is enabled in the future and you place or attempt to place an order, we may collect and use information needed to:
- Process and fulfill the order
- Calculate prices, taxes, and shipping
- Deliver products
- Send transactional emails
- Maintain inventory and order records
- Process returns, replacements, and refunds
- Provide customer service
- Detect fraud or abuse
- Meet accounting, tax, legal, and regulatory obligations
Order information may include your contact details, billing and shipping addresses, products, quantities, prices, shipping method, payment status, order notes, and transaction references supplied by the payment processor.
Payments may be handled by third-party payment providers. We do not directly store complete payment-card details on our website.
The order-related practices described in this section apply only when online shopping and checkout are enabled.
6. Comments, Ratings, and Reviews
When comments, ratings, or reviews are enabled, we may collect:
- Display name
- Email address
- Comment, rating, or review content
- IP address
- Browser user-agent information
- Date and time of submission
This information may be used for moderation, spam detection, security, and publication of approved content.
Approved comments and reviews may be publicly visible with the submitted display name. Email addresses and IP addresses are not intended to be displayed publicly.
If avatars are enabled, WordPress may use Gravatar or another avatar service. That service may receive a transformed version of the commenter’s email address and technical information to determine whether an avatar exists.
Do not include private or sensitive information in publicly submitted content.

These may include:

Comment Cookies
If comments are enabled and you choose to save your information, WordPress may store your name, email address, and website in cookies for convenience.
Third-Party Cookies and Technologies

You may control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent account, Cart, or Checkout features from working correctly.

If you are signed into a Google or YouTube account, activity may be associated with that account according to Google’s policies.
Cook and Live Well uses YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embedding mode for embedded videos. This mode is designed to reduce the use of viewing activity for advertising personalization. However, YouTube and Google may still collect information when an embedded player loads or when you interact with a video. Embedded videos remain subject to Google’s and YouTube’s terms and privacy practices.
